Where to download trading card images?

Main Post:

I want to download the trading card images for Arma III and Natural Selection 2 to make them desktop wallpapers on my computer. I don't have all of them in steam, and was wondering where I could find them online.

I know I haven't earned them but I just want them to decorate my desktop.

A Step by Step Noobs Picture Guide to Trading in No Man's Sky by a Noob.

Main Post:

Hello Fellow Interlopers!!!

When I first started the game I assumed making money and nanites would be a hard thing and really focused on that but I realize afterwards it actually is not the case. Nanites are a little harder, yes, but not that hard I will cover that in a different article and solely focus on units on this one.

The game presents you with so many different ways to make Units, starting with zero and ending in billions is actually not that hard and it should definitely not be your main focus. Just play along the single player arches which are really tutorials to NMS. Make sure you do your Base missions and the Atlas Path. you can thank me later.

Now with the small talk out of the way let us get to business and make some Units.

In this Guide I will cover Making units via trading goods. In goods we will concentrate on easy to obtain resources. I think the best commodity to trade is Cobalt because its sold in "EVERY" Station. Now per volume per sale that is Chlorine. This is very important to understand. Not every station trades Chlorine so your trade options are less. When you first start I suggest sticking to Cobalt as you will steadily make Units every station you visit. when you start to understand the mechanics and keep a log of the chlorine and platinum stations you will leap to billions in no time.

We will go in to Oxidizing later but keep in mind to increase your Oxygen stock as well. We will concentrate on pure Trading at the moment to solidify the concept of Supply and Demand and how we use it to our advantage. The heart of the Trade System is the Galactic Trade Terminals. (Picture 1) Every Space Station, Trade Station and Minor Settlement has one. You can also build it yourself in your bases which is very useful.

Galactic Trade Terminal (Picture 1)

Let's activate the terminal and check its contents. When you first get into it you will be greeted with a similar Screen. Things might change as the game updates, and the top /bottom left will be different obviously. (Picture 2)

Galactic Terminal Welcome Screen (picture 2)

Of now what we are looking at Picture 3;

Terminal Screen Description. Page 1 (Picture 3)

Scroll through the pages to see what is for sale and check the demand. (more on this later) (Picture 4 / 5)

Page 2 (Picture 4) Page 3 (Picture 5)

So we have 3 pages of Commodities the Terminal Sells. Now the sell screen is important because while you can sell "everything" to the Terminal you can "only" buy back what that terminal sells. VERY VERY IMPORTANT!!!!. We are doing trading and not sales. so you trade only what the Terminal sells!

looking at the pages of the terminal 1st page usually has commodities which I am rarely interested in. you will sometimes get starsilk here which is used to make chairs etc but that is a late game thing but keep that in mind. Looking at page 2 I see what I need and usually the last pages are the high value trades. Let's check Page 2 in detail. I am interested in Cobalt and Oxygen but you can use this method to all resources especially in early game to reduce mining. This is NMS not MC we are Interlopers not miners. Mining is a last no other way time wasting option. We have other things to waste our time on in NMS.

Demand is High which is good for sales but not good to buy. If you are not trading buying from negative demand is better as the price will be lower.

The important stuff; (Picture 6)

Terminal Buy Screen Descriptions (Picture 6)

Make sure the demands are high enough. if you trade enough here the demand can go down to -80.5% do not trade if this is the case and move on. Check resources and make a note. Check Demand. Check available to buy. It is important to crash the market :) The lower this is the lower resources you need to crash the market.

Now switch to the Sell Tab. Then switch to the inventory you want to use to sell from. Consolidate your inventories. Meaning, do not leave 5000 Cobalt in Suit and 4999 in Ship. A stack in NMS is 9999. Regardless of the inventory. So keep each resource in one inventory. You can have Cobalt in Suit and Oxygen in Ship but not half in suit and half in Ship. This is very important to keep in mind. Once you make a sale from one inventory NEVER EVER make a sale from other you will lose a lot more units than you make. (picture 7)

Picture 7

Now change the quantity to sell to Maximum! You need to sell everything. If you sell in batches the demand will go down and you will make less each time eventually losing more than you make. SELL AT ONCE. I know I am repeating myself but SELL AT ONCE. Did I say SELL AT ONCE???? (picture 8)

Picture 8

Now that we sold the resources disappear from our inventory. (picture 9)

Picture 9

Now Switch to Buy Tab and check the Cobalt Oxygen Demand and available quantity. (picture 10)

Picture 10

As you can see the Demands have crashed to -79.5% and -79%. The more you sell the higher the demand reduction will be. The Lowest I seen is -80.5% So this is almost at the maximum. so we are good. Notice the price of Cobalt went from 259 to 51 per unit and Oxygen from 43 to 8 Per unit for the buy screen. You will remember there was a difference between the terminal buy and sell prices as well before we traded. Cobalt sold for 259 and was purchased for 207. We sold at 207 but now we are buying at 51. A difference of 156 units per item. that is our profit. and we will use some of our profit to increase our stock.

Now Buy the maximum amount of Cobalt and Oxygen at our new and wonderful crashed market prices of 51 and 8 units. (picture 11 / 12)

Picture 11 Picture 12

Notice once you purchase the items are grayed out and you can not make any further purchases as there are no stocks available. The will change gradually as traders come and go and resources change hand but takes time. This is my main system and you saw the stock was at 156. I crashed the market on this terminal 4 days prior to making this guide to show you how slow the process is. Keep it in mind. Does it affect anything? well to be honest not really :)

So Congratulations you have concluded your first transaction but what did we make in return? We started with 6580 Cobalt and 9634 Oxygen. We sold all of them at 207 and 34 respectively per unit. We made 1,366,144 units and 335,822 units from Cobalt and Oxygen respectively for a total of 1,701,966 Units. Then we purchased everything back from the terminal for 379,115 units for 7304 Cobalt and 85,271 Units for 9785 Oxygen for a total of 464,386 units. That left us with a net profit of 1,237,580 units and all the stock we started with plus the stations stock. So the next transaction you make will yield more profit. it is a snowball effect.

In early game staying at these basic elements is a good option for their wide trade availability. Cobalt sells for 250 per unit average, platinium for 450 and Chlorine for 700. That's why you will see a lot of guides and bases doing chlorine but do not forget that trade options is lower and in early game you need more Units readily available. I use my 48 slow trader to trade chlorine and Platinum and I will net around 100 mil per transaction. so having less trade option is not a big deal. and late game you do not spend as much unless you build crazy big bases and you buy all resources.

Now to the why even bother with Oxygen trade part? Oxygen is an oxidizer that allows you to make more of a resource. For this though you need at least the medium refiner hence the reason why I told you to do you base missions.

You start refining your cobalt to ionized cobalt, which by the way is a good trade item as well but again is a hit or miss and not available in every station, then you put ionized cobalt and oxygen in a medium refiner and make six Ionized cobalt per one you put in while you use two oxygen in the process. (picture 13) Then you can refine 80% the ionized Cobalt to cobalt and do trading and use the 20% to oxidize more Ionized Cobalt to be refined to Cobalt. (Picture 14)

Picture 13 Picture 14

Oxidizing works with many resources and that's how you make a lot of Chlorine as well. You noticed probably by now while I said all resources can be traded I only specifically mention a few. Namely Cobalt, Oxygen, Platinum and Chlorine.

Cobalt because you can trade at all station and has a good sell to buy performance per item which is around 200 units.

Oxygen because You need an infinite amount of Oxygen and that why I think oxygen is more important to keep track of than Units or Nanites. So it is very important to trade Oxygen in every station. once stack of 9999 will crash the market. always keep your oxidizer refiners topped up so you don't run out and keep trading. I even specifically spare one of my storage unit purely for oxygen. so 20 x 9999 always available with the rest being used.

Platinum because you refine it to make nanites!!! Yeap for those who did not know. You can also refine Platinum with Gold and silver.

Chlorine because it yields the highest profit margin I have seen so far and it can be oxidized with no intermediary processes like cobalt. It yield a very strong 500 units per item profit.

I really hope this guide helps you on your Journey through the vast universe of No Man's Sky.

The End

Top Comment: Haved used this a lot in the past, but it feels like the current patch prevents the price from crashing? Still not past 10k of items, but it seems a much more narrow window, unsure it still works at all
